Why is it whenever you open a woman's magazine all you see are images of airbrushed supermodels and all you read about is how to lose weight?! Really, is that all there is to life, glossy unattainable hair and skin and the latest diet? Furthermore are any of those products that we're told we "need" actually any good for us? I don't want to upset any ladies who are emotionally attached to their wonder products because I think we all deserve to feel happy, however most products that you buy at pharmacies, hair salons, and high end spas actually contain toxic chemicals that have been linked to hormonal imbalance, organ toxicity, and even cancer.
If you are skeptical, then that is wonderful. That means you are an educated consumer who researches claims before making their own informed decisions. However, if your instinct is telling you that agencies like the FDA, Soil Association, or ECOCERT would be telling you if a product was really bad for you then you need to get in touch with your skeptical side. The legal framework is different in each country and there is only so much these agencies can do. You can't always control what is in your air and water, but you can control what you put on your skin.
